Durg Chhattisgarh Scam Haj and Umrah by Hadi Jamal (Ayesha International Haj Umra Tours and Travels)

 In 2023, a major Hajj and Umrah fraud scam was uncovered in Durg, a city in the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. The scam involved a travel agency named Ayesha International Haj Umra Tours and Travels, which promised to provide Hajj and Umrah packages to pilgrims at affordable prices.

Ayesha International Haj Umra Tours and Travels collected money from hundreds of people for these packages but then failed to provide the promised services. Many pilgrims were left stranded at airports or in foreign countries, without accommodation or transportation. Considering the fact that Mataaf Haj Umra Tours and Travels does not reveal Hadi Jamal's identity to me, I believe they are fraudsters. It is worth mentioning that, previously, he also worked for Mataaf Haj Umra Tours and Travels. Among the tours and travel agencies that Hadi Jamal is affiliated with Golden Tours and Travel Service, which stamps visas. At the last minute, these companies fail to deliver the package of services promised by them, citing reasons such as the failure of the visas to be processed as the reason why they don't deliver the package. Then, they promise to refund the money to you, but every single promise that they make turns out to be false and they are never able to deliver.

The scam resulted in financial loss and emotional trauma for hundreds of pilgrims, who had saved money for years to undertake the pilgrimage. The Durg Hajj and Umrah fraud scam highlights the need for stronger regulation and enforcement in the travel industry to protect the rights and interests of pilgrims.

The Indian government has taken steps to prevent such scams from happening in the future. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has launched a web portal, the Hajj Group Organisers Portal (HGOP), to provide a transparent platform for travel agencies and operators to apply for licenses and provide Hajj and Umrah packages to pilgrims. The portal also allows pilgrims to check the status of their applications and provides information on approved travel agencies and operators.

In addition, the government has urged pilgrims to be cautious when selecting travel agencies and operators for their Hajj and Umrah packages. Pilgrims are advised to verify the credentials of the travel agency, check its license status, and read reviews and feedback from other pilgrims before making a decision.

Overall, the Durg Hajj and Umrah fraud scam serves as a reminder of the importance of due diligence and caution when selecting travel agencies and operators for the Hajj and Umrah pilgrimage.
